The Barwon Heads Golf Club Redevelopment

This prestigious and state significant heritage listed clubhouse is located in the township of Barwon Heads overlooking 13th Beach and was originally constructed in 1924, serving as the first country club in Victoria and private residential golf club to provide accommodation.

The clubhouse has been designed by Demaine Partnership Pty Ltd and interiors by Nexus Designs. The project comprises of refurbished accommodation, redeveloped conference, dining, amenities, administration, new feature interconnecting stairs and back of house facilities.

A key challenge was ensuring the clubhouse preserved and enhanced significant conservation and heritage aspects of a 100 year old building, balancing complex fire engineering, various building latent conditions and compliance aspects.  

A robust project delivery and staging strategy was developed by BVC Projects that allowed the club to continue operations during the redevelopment.

The project was delivered on time and under budget.
